WP 18. Commercialisation aspects

This area of work will be lead by Partner 10 (Zurich) with input from Partner 2 (Leiden), Partner 11 (Lund), Partner 15 (Genmab) , Partner 23 (Future Partner), Partner 24 (Biovitrum), Partner 25 (BMD), Partner 26 (Oligene) and Partner 27 (Arthrogen)

The main aim in the workpackage is to establish procedures for contacts between the current consortium and SMEs in Europe , so that resources within the consortium can be efficiently used by biotech companies as well as small pharmaceutical companies and start-ups from universities.

The liaison with Genmab is in this context seen as the prototype, where experience from this collaboration will help the consortium as a whole as will as single members of the consortium to work more efficiently with SMEs.

As described more in detail in other parts of the application, the Project Office will be responsible for establishing procedures for patenting and handling of intellectual property rights within the consortium, as well as for disseminating knowledge on the consortium to relevant SMEs.

We aim to have established procedures for all these contact measures during the first 18 months, and to have begun the first trials together with Genmab, thus establishing the pilot phase of the liaison with SMEs. We thereafter plan to establish several other contacts with SMEs, enabling them to use our consortium for interesting projects concerning single targets for therapy in RA and other autoimmune diseases.
