Partners

The consortium is composed of partners that together possess expertise within clinical science, experimental animal studies, genetic epidemiology, biotechnology, medical bioinformatics, molecular bioinformatics, bioethics, drug development, implementation and dissemination of pharmaceuticals towards common inflammatory rheumatic diseases. Consortium members have an extensive track record within all these fields. Most notably, consortium members have been major contributors to the targeted therapies that exist today in chronic autoimmune diseases - TNF blockade and IL1 blockade. Most consortium members have also been involved in multiple collaborative studies, many of which have been initiated via the EULAR-associated network and lately through the EULAR genomics study group (partner 21). The present consortium provides, however, the first ever ambitious effort to combine all these groups in order to advance beyond the current state of the art and develop new therapies in a way that can never be done within the framework of a single group, a single nation or within pharmaceutical companies.
