Academic Medical Center, AmsterdamThis centre has specialised in using the analysis of synovial biopsies to identify new targets for therapies and using synovial biopsies for the evaluation of molecular effects on new targeted therapies. Together with the rest of the European synovitis study group, studies on the use of synovial biopsies will be extended. In addition the group possesses huge experience from the molecular analysis of biopsies as well as experience from cell biology related to joint destruction. Professor Paul Peter Tak is presently the Principal Investigator for several targeted therapy programmes in autoimmune diseases, in particular concerning antagonists to chemokine receptors .
